MURPHY IRISH ARTS ASSOCIATION
WHO
WE ARE
The Murphy Irish Arts Association (MIAA) is a non-profit organization, registered as a 501(c)(3) with the Internal Revenue Service, that supports the Murphy Irish Arts Center and its dancers. The purpose for which the Murphy Irish Arts Association was formed is to promote Irish heritage as a family organization. The MIAA has a volunteer Board of Directors who are elected by the members of the Association. Membership in the association is composed of parents of dancers, and in the case of adult dancers, the dancers themselves. The Association helps the dancers in many ways, including fundraising to subsidize some of the cost of costuming, travel, competition, summer camps and equipment. The organization also plans annual social activities, such as the Ceili in February, and other events, like family picnics or social outings.
